On the Third Day of Christmas

For the multitudes (ok, the ones) of you following our story...
Last night, true to form, the doorbell rang at about 9:15....strange how that happened right after I returned home from a meeting with one of my suspects. Who, of course, acted completely dumb and confused when questioned. Hmm.....
Anyway, last night's gift was a beautiful wintery throw with aqua and white snowflakes on a Royal blue background. And soft? Oh, my. Think of a "soft as" dial and go about 4 clicks up from the "Cloud" setting.
This is just so much fun! I'm already planning on doing this for someone else next year! I would do it this year, but you can't really do the "12 Days of Christmas" with only 8 days left. I guess I could start on Christmas Day and extend it out that way, to 12th night? Anyway, stay tuned. I am hoping to post photos soon (when The Girl tells me where she's put the digital camera).

I was thinking about this today. The song does say "My true love gave to me" so could it be someone you are very close to?? We might know if you get 5 golden rings on the 5th day. LOL!

I'm now about 90% sure I know who it is...but I don't want to put it in writing, because I'm having fun. They are a family who are friends...and each message comes with a reminder about Who the season really is all about...things like Praise Him, In Jesus, etc...I can't wait to do this for someone else...

Random Dozen. The Happy Birthday Edition

Lidna, over at 2nd Cup , just celebrated her birthday and asked lots of people to contribute prompts for the Random Dozen meme.  She chose one of mine!  I'm so flattered!  So...here's my take on the doz....won't you play along, too? 1. My second son says “BOOM” by P.O.D. should play whenever I walk in to a room. Strangely disturbing. He says it was his “first band” outside of what his parents liked and Veggie Tales. THAT kind of neighbor, Toilets, Accidental Brunette-dness and the RD

We are THAT family. For the past six weeks or so, our neighbors have been very patient with us. Every time we pull into our driveway, the theme from Sanford and Son plays. We have had up to six toilets in our yard at one time. In addition to this, because we are under construction and building out the garage as a bedroom for the two younger boys, everything that was formerly in the garage has had to find another temporary home. Thus, we have an elliptical machine, skate boards and ice chests on my front porch and a six-piece Pearl drum kit in my shed. And at one point, the bench seats from my old Suburban were leaning against the front gate. Obviously, we never parked our cars in the garage. Yep. THAT family. I am ever so glad we don’t have a homeowner’s association who gets wigged out over that kind of thing.
