I had a Costco Latte Freeze the other day! It was just like iced coffee made into a slushy... and I sort of wished I had gotten the mocha, but I understand they use HErshey's syrup and did not want to hate my drink... however can we say "cheap"?

Hi. Your name is one of the first things I learned in EMT class (A&OX4). So glad you visited me. And YES, the sound of sirens is awful when your kids are out there. I have my fire pager and am continually checking where they are headed. (once I actually drove to the scene just to be sure it wasn't my son). Don't know if you noticed but the post of mine that you read was a continuation of one that I had done 2 or 3 previously about his driving mishaps. IT IS SO SCARY. And, you know how I feel when they end up beating themselves up about it. Being a teen ager is hard!
As for your last post, I never thought I would have to tell my kids "No, I am Not Gay". (around here, everything is gay--I think it stands for dumb---at best!)

Hey! Good advice, I know, but believe me I AM simplifying. They haven't even had a party since they were one and I don't want to do CEC because 1) hate it and 2) $$$.

We are having it in the backyard, with nothing but cake, which totally bucks the system because everyone else spends about $500 on a kids' birthday party which I think is obscene. I just thought that making the invitations would be this simple, quick project - and it did NOT go as planned!!! So then for it all to be in vain....ergh.

And by the way, I do remember my 5th birthday party ;)

Random Dozen October 7

Time for this week's edition of Random Dozen. I just argued with myself over the placement of that apostrophe. It's way too early for this. Anyway, play along and head on over to 2nd cup and link up. (wow--that rhymes) 1. On an average, how often do you splurge and buy something for yourself? Maybe a couple of times a year. But the thing is, it usually has to be on clearance, and then additional savings off. Last week I gained huge ground and bought a top that was just on sale, not clearance. I don’t have this problem when I buy things for others, just myself. 2. Are you more like Hall or Oates? Just kidding. Real question: What is the last creative project you began/finished? THAT kind of neighbor, Toilets, Accidental Brunette-dness and the RD

We are THAT family. For the past six weeks or so, our neighbors have been very patient with us. Every time we pull into our driveway, the theme from Sanford and Son plays. We have had up to six toilets in our yard at one time. In addition to this, because we are under construction and building out the garage as a bedroom for the two younger boys, everything that was formerly in the garage has had to find another temporary home. Thus, we have an elliptical machine, skate boards and ice chests on my front porch and a six-piece Pearl drum kit in my shed. And at one point, the bench seats from my old Suburban were leaning against the front gate. Obviously, we never parked our cars in the garage. Yep. THAT family. I am ever so glad we don’t have a homeowner’s association who gets wigged out over that kind of thing.
